Browser-Based ApprovalSoft Requirements

Web Server Specifications:

  • Processor: 2 GHz or faster
  • RAM: Minimum 8 GB
  • Disk Space: 25 GB free
  • Operating System: Windows Server 2012 or later
  • Web Server: Internet Information Services (IIS) 7 or later

Website Configuration:

By default, ApprovalSoft Web is installed on the IIS Default Website. If a custom website setup is preferred (e.g., for URL redirects or multi-site environments), create the new site prior to installation.

Pre-Installation Setup:

  • Desktop ApprovalSoft (build 0.8.112 or higher) must be installed on the server
  • IIS 7.5 or later configured to host ApprovalSoft Web
  • Externally facing IP address if remote access is needed
  • Remote administrator access to the server
  • Domain user account with full control to imaging folders and non-expiring password
  • .NET Framework versions: 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5
  • Windows Server Features: Framework 3.5.1 and Windows Process Activation
  • PHP installed for IIS (assistance provided by Advantage Systems)
  • Recommended browser: Latest version of Google Chrome
  • Oracle 32-bit client and configured TNSNAMES.ORA file (if connecting to AMB)
  • Server must be joined to the domain

Database Server Requirements:

  • Processor: 3 GHz or faster
  • RAM: Minimum 8 GB
  • Disk Space: 25 GB free for OS, plus 100 GB on a network drive for image storage
  • Operating System: Windows Server 2016 or later
  • Database: SQL Server Standard or Enterprise Edition 2017 or higher
  • .NET Framework: Versions 3.5 and 4.8

  • If AMB uses an Oracle database: ApprovalSoft must run on a separate Windows server
  • If AMB uses SQL Server: ApprovalSoft may share the same Windows server, but must run on a separate SQL Server instance
